How to Change a Ceiling Fan

Learn how to change a ceiling fan with this step-by-step guide.

Follow these instructions to safely and easily replace an old ceiling fan with a new one.

Supplies:

1. New Ceiling Fan

4. Pliers To Strip and Cut Wires

Steps

1. Turn off the power to the ceiling fan at the circuit breaker

2. Remove the old ceiling fan ( may need 2 people)

3. Install the mounting bracket for the new ceiling fan (Follow instruction manual)

4. Attach the new ceiling fan to the mounting bracket without the blades attached.

5. Connect the wiring from the new ceiling fan to the electrical box

6. Attach the fan blades to the new ceiling fan

7. Install the light kit (if applicable)

8. Turn the power back on and test the new ceiling fan.
