1. Ekopel 2k
2. Bar Keepers Friend
4. Soap pads
5. Painters Tape
6. Plastic drop cloth

So, I finally decided to tackle the small master bathroom. I really wanted to record myself refinishing this shower, but the size of the master bath did not allow me to do so.

I will instead show you pictures and videos of what I did to refinish the bathtub. Yes, this process was hard!

I literally had beads of sweat forming or my forehead dripping down my face, just rolling the stuff to make sure I got rid of as many runs as possible.

This process will be hard unless you are a professional.

The first step in this process is to clean your tub or shower.

This may seem like a straightforward one, but if you use the wrong product, you will run the risk of your entire project feeling due to scum and soap scum still being attached to your tub or shower.

It is recommended that you use an abrasive cleaner like Ajax or even Pine-sol.

Here is a picture of the cleaning products I use to clean the stand-up shower.

Barkeepers' friend sprinkled all over.

I really enjoy using Bar Keepers Friend to clean the bathroom, kitchen, pots and pans, and many other things.

If you cannot get the Bar Keepers Friend attached to your wall, you can always sprinkle some on the soap on before scrubbing your walls.

The cleaning step is the most tedious part of the entire process.

I recommend getting some old unused towels or something that can be on the outside of your shower or tub to capture all the runoff water or soap that will drip onto the floor.

I would not recommend at this stage taping off the area because the water will loosen the adhesive of the painter's tape, and then you would have to redo it all over again. #lessonlearned

I cleaned the shower 2 times using these two products, and it was clean enough for me.

However, you can always do it a third time just to make sure you have gotten everything off your walls and floor. After completing the cleaning process, allow the surface to dry for a few hours or overnight.

Finding the perfect refinishing kit for your shower or tub can be mind-boggling.

There are so many companies and brands with the same spiel of being the best for your refinishing project.

I went with a company called Refinished Bath Solutions. I watch their YouTube videos on applying the product to a regular tub and shower so that I can build up confidence before tackling this project myself.

The guy in the video made the process looks so much easier than it actually was, but the ending product makes it all worth it.

( I do not work with this company; I am only sharing what I personally use for my refinishing project)

Use plastic and tape to cover floors/walls.

Use tape and a plastic bag to cover the faucet/shower head.

Making sure to properly mix the two parts of this refinishing kit it's very important.

If you do not mix both chemicals together properly, you will have a tacky tub, and it will not be hard so that you can actually use your shower or tub.

If this happens, you will need to take it off or order another kit to apply over the first failed attempt.

My first attempt ended up with bubbles being everywhere runs and even spots where it did not correctly cover the tub.

I sent them an email with pictures, and they were very friendly and informed me that I would need to have a large size kit

They were gracious enough to offer me a coupon for my second order due to my own mistake.

Here is a video of them applying the product to a tub andshower. They sell another product called Ekopel that is available on Amazon. Watch here (Same process for all products).
